In early March, the VDI Conference “Electrified OFF-Highway Machines” took place for the second time in Düsseldorf, where international experts from the off-road sector discussed the future development of the powertrain. The two-day conference focused primarily on the challenges and opportunities of electrification: from the latest developments in battery and engine technology and functional safety to operational issues such as life cycles, maintenance and regulatory factors.
KEYOU – represented here by our CTO Alvaro Sousa – was in action twice during the conference: On the one hand, as a participant in the panel discussion “Net Zero – Carbon-free Economy. Is it realistic? What Challenges are we facing? What are possible technical solutions? What are alternatives to electrification?”. A few hours later, Alvaro gave a talk on hydrogen combustion technology in the “Well-to-Wheel: Alternative Powertrains” slot, adding a special touch to the otherwise highly “e-heavy” event.
