The forward thinker Amelia Zinke founded the non-profit initiative “Renewables Round Table 2100” approximately ten years ago, having previously worked for almost 30 years for the world’s leading industrial gases and engineering group Linde in a wide variety of international management positions in the fields of marketing and finance. The initiative is a circle of high-ranking managers, decision-makers and personalities whose companies have produced technologies, innovations and patents in the field of renewable energies. The aim of the round is to use German technologies and innovations to support the development of local core competencies, create jobs and promote innovative industries, particularly in Africa.
About once a month Mrs Zinke invites to interesting thematic areas. Well-known key note speakers of the past were Paul van Son and Ulrich Hueck, known as initiators of the DESERTEC Industrial Initiative, Christian Hiller von Gaertringen, FAZ editor and author of the book ‘Africa is the new Asia’, Jürgen Stotz (former World Energy Council President Germany) or Harald Langer (former The Economist Intelligence Unit, London). For this year’s first meeting Mrs. Zinke asked if a representative of KEYOU could contribute something on the subject of hydrogen engines, naturally, we did not hesitate to respond and gladly agreed. Thus, beginning of February, Jürgen Nadler (CMO KEYOU) made himself available to representatives of the initiative in an open discussion round lasting about one and a half hours. Afterwards, everyone sat together in a relaxed atmosphere and ” philosophised” about the energy and mobility turnaround and the advantages as well as disadvantages of the various alternative drive technologies.
