On November 20th the Bremerhavener Wirtschaftsförderung, the Senator for Economics and Ports and the association H2BX invited to one of their conferences at the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven. Numerous experts from business and politics accepted the invitation to learn more about the topic “Economic applications of hydrogen technologies – perspectives for Bremerhaven”.
The business location at the mouth of the Weser has great experience with the development and production of technologies for the renewable energy sector. Bremerhaven is one of the pioneers in the large-scale use of wind energy and has a wide-ranging research infrastructure on this subject. “Hydrogen is the ideal continuation of this success story”, said Prof. Carsten Fichter from the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences at the event. Pierre Steffen pointed out in his KEYOU presentation that hydrogen can also be used as a fuel in modified petrol and diesel engines. One of his core messages: “Only with the help of the hydrogen engine will vehicle manufacturers achieve the strict CO2 reduction targets recently formulated by the EU”.
