This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of conferences and events were cancelled. However, quite a few events were held virtually, most recently the annual conference of the “Commercial Vehicle Cluster (CVC) Südwest“. There, KEYOU had the opportunity to present online and participate in the digital panel discussion. The aim of CVC Südwest, based in Rhineland-Palatinate, is “to establish the southwest of Germany and in particular Rhineland-Palatinate as a leading competence center for the commercial vehicle industry”. In his presentation “Beating the diesel, but not the engine: The new generation of hydrogen combustion engines”, KEYOU co-founder and CEO Thomas Korn addressed this very topic by discussing in detail the advantages of the hydrogen engine compared to other alternative propulsion technologies – especially for the commercial vehicle industry.
The top-class, two-day event was opened by Dr. Volker Wissing, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to Dr. Wissing and Thomas Korn, speakers included Dr. Matthias Jurytko and Achim Vogt from Daimler Truck AG. The main topic, “Hydrogen – Innovative Perspectives for the Commercial Vehicle Industry” a total of nine speakers from different companies, associations and research institutes presented their developments around the topic of hydrogen. Of particular interest: Recently, Minister of Economic Affairs Volker Wissing emphasized that the development of hydrogen engines for the commercial vehicle sector, which is strong in Rhineland-Palatinate, should be promoted above all. Apropos Rhineland-Palatinate: There will be more news about KEYOU in Rhineland-Palatinate soon, and we will of course report on this again.
Many thanks to the organizers and the audience for this successful event!
