In keeping with the theme “Is the technology open change coming?”, the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce together with the Wirtschaftsverband industrieller Unternehmen (WVIB) invited to the Automotive Summit 2019 in Donaueschingen at the end of December. In addition to keynotes, the congress participants were able to view a panel discussion and several sessions on the topics of “Future strategies and suppliers” and “Future technologies”. In this context, Alexander Werz (KEYOU, PM Overall Vehicle) gave a presentation entitled “The hydrogen combustion engine as the ideal drive technology for CO2 reduction”. One aspect of the presentation was also that the emission-free hydrogen combustion engine best manages the balancing act between environmental protection, economic efficiency and customer benefit as well as socio-economic requirements (including the creation and preservation of new jobs, necessary investments in production infrastructures, etc.) compared to the other alternative drive technologies.
In the end, the organizers drew a conclusion that we are happy to endorse. “The future belongs to environmentally friendly mobility. It’s exciting to see which drive concepts will prevail with end customers – not only in the German and European market, but worldwide. There are no simple and unambiguous answers to this question, as the social, market, technological and legal framework is far too complex”.
Many thanks to the organizers for the great event and to the audience for the positive exchange!
