Together with the Verband Mitteldeutscher Omnibusunternehmer MDO, the VDV Landesverband Saxony / Thuringia organised this year’s annual common conference “Fahrzeugtechnik und alternative Antriebe” in Nordhausen. The venue was the IFA Museum Nordhausen as well as the premises of adapt engineering, where KEYOU maintains its test bench.
The locations were well chosen, as VDV and MDO wanted to discuss the topic of hydrogen buses with their members – not fuel cell buses, but buses powered by an emission-free hydrogen engine. So what could be more appropriate than to take a look at the technology on the spot? While in the morning the members listened to interesting lectures by TÜV Nord, Localhy, KEYOU and VDV/MDO, the participants could furthermore convince themselves of the new KEYOU-inside technology live on the test bench. Before that, they drove a short round with the veteran BVG buses, which were already powered by a hydrogen combustion engine. Old technology – new technology: the audience was thrilled, also two visitors of the Ministry of Thuringia like Anke Hönl (Thüringer Ministerium für Infrastruktur und Landwirtschaft, Referat Schienenverkehr/ÖPNV) and Jörg Kallenbach (Thüringer Ministerium für Umwelt, Energie und Naturschutz; Referatsleiter nachhaltige Mobilität).
Mr. Scheidhauer, Managing Director of VDV Landesverband Saxony/Thuringia, as well as Managing Director Tilman Wagenknecht of Verband Mitteldeutsche Omnibusunternehmer, thanked KEYOU for their hospitality and organisation. We also have to thank them, it was a great pleasure for us to act as “hosts”!
